You probably wondering what I mean by No more Zero days. It is a way of life essentially, a means to reaching your dream or goals. I’ve read many of these “how to improve your life” crap stories in magazines and websites, but this is one that I actually believe in. It originated from a member of reddit.com. He commented on another persons topic with 4 simple steps on how to improve your over life and reach your dreams & goals. you can head over here to read the entire story. It is really step one that I feel is most important, No more Zero days:
There are no more zero days. What’s a zero day? A zero day is when you don’t do a single fucking thing towards whatever dream or goal or want or whatever that you got going on. No more zeros. I’m not saying you gotta bust an essay out everyday, that’s not the point. The point I’m trying to make is that you have to make yourself, promise yourself, that the new SYSTEM you live in is a NON-ZERO system. Didn’t’ do anything all fucking day and it’s 11:58 PM? Write one sentence. One push-up. Read one page of that chapter. One. Because one is non zero. You feel me? When you’re in the super vortex of being bummed your pattern of behaviour is keeping the vortex going, that’s what you’re used to. Turning into productivity ultimate master of the universe doesn’t happen from the vortex. It happens from a massive string of CONSISTENT NON ZEROS. That’s rule number one. Do not forget.
It sounds easy, but its going to take commitment and drive. In the end though I believe that is how you are going to reach your goals in life, with no Zero days. Forget all other self help crap that say believe in yourself and that bullshit. The only way you going to get where you want to be is through moving forward. So what ever your dream is in life, do something everyday to get you close to it, and I mean every single day, doesn’t matter how big or small it is, do it. Something is always better than nothing.
Step 4, exercise and books is also very important, being fit and healthy leads to a calmer & more intelligent mind. I’m not saying run a 100 km’s everyday and only eat rabbit food and tofu. Small changes make a big difference. Instead of drinking that fizzing drink, have a fruit juice. Take the stairs instead of the lift. Park at the far end of the parking lot, you get exercise from walking and the chances of a bimbo slamming her bmw’s door into your car is drastically reduced, win win. You catch my drift? Good.
From personal experience I think clearer and my concentration is improved if I go for a morning cycle before sitting down at my desk. I know its not always possible, but make a effort, remember no more Zero days.
Now I’m not saying ignore the other 2 steps, if they feel right to you, by all means embrace them as well. I just find them as applicable to me.
I’m going to start making a full-hearted attempt to start living this way, I challenge you to do the same.
